Founded and incorporated in Ontario, Canada in 2001, Hydro Tech was established to provide innovative engineering, maintenance, and construction solutions to the hydropower industry. Over the past two decades, we have grown into a highly specialized provider of hydroelectric and marine engineering services, supporting clients across North America with technically advanced, field-proven solutions.

Hydro Tech specializes in the service, repair, rehabilitation, retrofitting, and modernization of hydroelectric generating stations, along with engineering support across all stages of hydropower development — from concept and design through manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and long-term operation. Our capabilities include engineering, project management, precision metrology, specialized machining, field services, and turnkey execution for complex projects in demanding operating environments.

A core strength of Hydro Tech is our expertise in advanced bearing technologies. Our innovative bearing solutions support both the hydroelectric and marine propulsion industries, helping operators improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and operational life. Originally developed to address the hydro industry’s growing need for replacement thrust bearings capable of handling increased loads associated with turbine upgrades and modernization programs, Hydro Tech completed its first fully engineered bearing design in 2005. Since then, our bearing technologies and engineering capabilities have continued to evolve to meet the changing demands of critical rotating equipment.
