Hydro Tech’s innovative bearing solutions are supplied for medium to large hydroelectric generating companies and for marine propulsion.
Our bearing designs were born of a hydro industry need for replacement thrust bearings that could handle increased load resulting from turbine upgrades and replacements. When the Volta River Authority (VRA) in Ghana, Africa was seeking a solution to a unique and recurring cavitation problem that seemed unresolvable, Hydro Tech provided the solution and designed a bearing that included the world’s largest segmented keyed runner plate.
